Father Ernst, the calming influence, mother Helga, the good spirit of the house, and the three children Christian, Eduard and Marina: We all dedicate ourselves with passion to wine.
The family members of the Kittenberger Winery can best be described as down-to-earth, traditional and open-minded. Be it when dealing with each other, with friends and customers or with our vines and wines.
The history of our company began no less than 150 years ago. This started as a classical agricultural mixed operation with the emphasis on arable farming and livestock breeding. The great-grandparents were almost self-sufficient and the wine was actually only a by-product.
Gradually, however, we recognized the potential of our cultivated areas and so the vines came more and more to the fore – to this day, where we can call almost seven hectares of vineyards our own.
Our main variety is the Grüner Veltliner. This takes almost half of the white wine portion, but also the Riesling does not come too briefly with us.
Of course there are other varieties in our vineyards: We must not forget the Yellow Muscatel, the Early Red Veltliner and the Zweigelt.
Our vineyards extend up to 420 metres above sea level in the idyllic wine village of Mittelberg, which lies in the Lower Austrian Kamptal valley.
We belong to Langenlois, the largest wine town in Austria, and are proud to be part of the „good soil“.
